Lesson Week with Miss Gatchel

Posted on 10/20/17!

Hi all! This past week has been a blast. I have had the opportunity to teach three lessons to your children in Miss DiIanni's room! Earlier this week the students mastered the number 6, 7, and 8. They are able to respresent, write, and identify these numbers! The students used counting bears to identify and show "how many" and they used mini white boards to practice writing these numbers. They worked really hard and were very focused for me and learned a lot, too! On Tuesday, I taught the students about living and nonliving things. We used picture cards to practice identifying living and nonliving objects. With this beautiful weather, we were able to get outside and search for living and nonliving things. We took pictures and collected items and brought them back into our classroom. What a fun way to learn! On Wednesday, the students began to learn about main ideas and key details while talking all about community helpers. I made police officers hats, firefighter helmets, mailman hats, chef hats, and farmer hats to help the students understand more about important people in our community. Using these hats, they were able to idetify key details all about these important people. This past week has been filled with both fun and learning! The students are the best and I am so lucky to be able to get to share this learning experience with them!
